MANILA, Philippines — Michael Jordan is one, if not the most successful professional basketball player ever. He has numerous championship titles under his name, five MVP plums to boast, and tons of commercial endorsers that continually keeps his cash register ringing even if he has been retired from the sport for close to a decade now.
And now that he’s decided to part ways with his beloved car, what would make you think twice about buying what was once owned by the man regarded as the greatest basketball star ever.
“His Airness” has recently put his 2007 Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren 722 roadster on sale at eBay for US $429,998 (roughly P18.5 million) after just driving it for 962 miles.
The rear-wheel drive sports car is powered by a 5.5-liter SEFI AMG supercharged V8 engine that translates 670 hp at 6500 rpm. Racing up from 0-100kph in less than 4 seconds won’t be a problem for this carbon fiber reinforced machine, which zooms at 209 mph (337 kph) tops.
Having the reputation as a Michael Jordan pre-owned sports car is a genuine plus for this car.
Now, if only the Metro Manila traffic may permit one to drive to its full extent every day, this thing could easily be flying around here on somebody else’s garage.
